[her voice falls away by the sound of the engines starting] Dallas : Navigation lights on! Kane : Lights on three still out. Ripley : [through intercom] Give me a pressure reading. I'm not getting anything.
[we hear the computer countdown again] Dallas : Kill drive engines.
[The Nostromo lands. One of the paws sets down on the ground and forms to the rocks lying there. There is a screech and explosions. A warning sound goes on] Dallas : What the hell happened? [shouts] Somebody give me a straight asset(?)!! Kane : It's a hull breach. Ripley : I don't see anything. We still got pressure. Dallas : What's on three? [shot from the outside: the Nostromo]
[on the bridge: everyone listens to Parker telling what's broken through the intercom] Parker : Secondary load... Shine unit is out. Three of the four cells are gone. Ripley : Is that it? Parker : No, hold on- Ehhh... We can't fix it out here anyway, and ehhh... We need to reroute a couple of these ducts. What'd ya say, Brett... Kane : Dry knocked, huh. [down in the engine room. Brett and Parker are there.] Brett : Try it out. Tell them that ehhh... Parker : [in intercom] We couldn't fix it out here anyway, we gotta reroute all these ducts and ehhh in order to do that we got to dry the dock. [on the bridge] Dallas : [sighs] What else? Parker : Some fragments picked up, and we got to clean it all up and ehhh... repressurise them. [down in the engine room] Ripley : [through intercom] How long before we're functional? Parker : [to Brett] What- What is... Brett : It's a seventeen hour job... Parker : [into intercom] At least twentyfive hours. Brett : Yeah... Ripley : Get started on the board panel, I'll be right down. [down in the engine room] Parker : What the hell is she coming down here for, for christ' sake? Brett : She'd better stay the fuck out of my way... Parker : Yeah, I'd like to see what you'll gonna do when she get here...
[shot on another part of the bridge] Kane : Any response yet? Dallas : No. Absolutely nothing. Ash : We get the same transmission every twelve seconds. Dallas : All the other channels are dead. [he sits down and looks out a window] Kick on the lights.
[shot from outside, we see the light under the Nostromo go on.] Kane : [looking outside. Outside there is a lot of wind, almost no sight at all.] Well, we can't go anywhere in this... Ash : Well, Mother says the sun's coming up in twenty minutes. Dallas : How far are from the source of the transmission? Ash : Ehhh... North-east. Just under two thousand metres. Kane : Walking distance? Dallas : [laughs a bit] [to Ash] Give me an atmospheric... Ash : Yes.
[Ash sits behind a terminal. There are numbers scrolling on the screen.] Ash : Oh... Dallas : It's almost primordial... Ash : We see a... nitrogen... high concentration of carbondioxyde, crystals, methan, I'm working on the trace elements. Dallas : Anything else? Ash : Yes, there's... rock: lava base... Deep cold, well below the line. Dallas : Uhummm. Kane : I will volunteer to be on the first group to go out. Dallas : Yeah, it figures. You too, Lambert. Lambert : [cigaret in her hand. Nodds knowingly] Swell... Dallas : I'm gonna break out the weapons.
